MRS. DONEGHY'S COUNSELING CONNECTION
Dear Parents,
My name is Dionna Doneghy and I am excited to serve as the counselor for grades K-2 at Nicholson Elementary School. I am married and have three wonderful children. Two of them are graduates from Cobb County Schools and one is still a Cobb County student. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College. I went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Mental Health from Johns Hopkins University and a Master's Degree in School Counseling from the University of the Southwest. I am a board member of the Cobb School Counselor Association and I enjoy learning innovative new technology as well as counseling strategies to help my students become well-adjusted, compassionate, and successful members of society.
As a school counselor, it is my primary responsibility be an advocate for all students and to promote their social, emotional, and academic development. I am here to support the students, staff, families, and community. I meet with students individually and in small groups, conduct classroom lessons, meet with parents, collaborate with teachers and staff, facilitate Response to Intervention (RTI), provide food and clothing to needy families, and consult with community organizations and our school social worker to serve our students and their families.
Students can request to meet with me or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent. I encourage you to reach out to me if you have concerns regarding your child. I can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at 770-928-5573. I can also be reached via the contact form within my blog.
Sincerely,
Dionna Doneghy
